GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) – Mississippi could see 30 to 40 businesses growing medical marijuana, according to Executive Director of the Mississippi Medical Marijuana Association Ken Newberger.
While the state is still working on all of the rules and regulations for growers, processors and sellers, the association is moving forward with efforts to help entrepreneurs get into the medical marijuana business.
Later this month, there is a free seminar set to take place in Gulfport.
“They can expect they’ll learn a lot about the key costs and breakdown of how to open a cannibals dispensary for retail sales and what to include in their business plan, the thought processes of getting a license and the basic compliance of the law,” said Newberger.
Newberger said so far the biggest interest from those wanting to get in on the retail side of medical marijuana has come from the Coast.
The medical cannabis seminar is on March 22nd.
