The Mississippi State Department of Health announced Thursday that it plans to revoke the license of a medical cannabis testing facility in Natchez.According to health officials, an investigation into Rapid Analytics LLC began on Dec. 21 and concluded on Feb. 9. MSDH said “significant deviations from regulatory standards and approved procedures” were found.A number of cannabis products were pulled from dispensary shelves on Dec. 21 after MSDH officials said an “audit of Certificates of Analysis surrounding original test results for pesticides and mycotoxins” was completed by Rapid Analytics. The Mississippi Medical Cannabis Program covered the cost of the “mass re-testing” of the products. “Medical cannabis testing is critical to ensuring product safety for patients, and Rapid Analytics’ disregard for regulatory compliance poses a threat to public health and welfare,” MSDH officials said in a news release.The license will be revoked as of March 13. Rapid Analytics has 20 days to appeal the decision.
