JACKSON – The National Center for Cannabis Research and Education at the University of Mississippi could add medical research under a bill approved by both houses of the Mississippi Legislature.
The bill (2888) would allow the use of state, federal and private money to pay for research into the effectiveness of marijuana and the health effects of different ways of using it.
The Mississippi Medical Cannabis Research and Education program would set up the research facility at Ole Miss.
The bill is awaiting the signature of Governor Reeves.
