JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI – A three-judge panel of 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Friday rejected arguments about the need for medical marijuana advertising in Mississippi.
The federal law applies in all states, and Mississippi “faces no constitutional obstacle to restricting commercial speech relating to unlawful transactions,” the judges wrote.
An Oklahoma resident was arrested in Mississippi after authorities said they found more than 1,100 pounds of marijuana.
According to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, Criminal Interdiction Officers stopped a truck towing an enclosed trailer in Tishomingo County on November 14.
The unidentified driver, an Oklahoma resident, was arrested and charged with possession of seven grams of cocaine and felony trafficking of 1,100 pounds of marijuana.
A Warren County man was arrested for allegedly killing his father, the Vicksburg Daily News reports.
The news outlet says 43-year-old Charles Dudley White, was charged with the murder of 74-year-old Charles Lee White.
